Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council adopt Resolution No. 18-0070 to:

1) Designate $589,315 in Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account revenues created by Senate Bill 1 (SB1) (the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017) for the Marine Avenue Resurfacing Project in the Fiscal Year 2018/19 Capital Improvement Plan;
2) Authorize the Public Works Director to submit the necessary project information to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) as required by the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, including year-end reporting for all SB1 projects.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The City of Manhattan Beach anticipates receiving $589,315 of SB1 funding in FY 2018/19, which is budgeted within the Streets and Highways Fund in the FY 2018/19 Proposed Operating Budget.

To comply with the Annual Reporting guidelines, these funds need to be allocated in the City's FY 2018/19 Capital Improvement Plan Budget to a specific project. Staff proposes that these upcoming funds be incorporated into the Marine Avenue (from Sepulveda Boulevard to Aviation Boulevard) Resurfacing Project. If approved by the City Council, this change will be incorporated into the final Capital Improvement Plan and Operating Budget, which are scheduled for adoption on June 19, 2018.
