Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council:

1. Formally accept as complete the Cycle 1 Storm Drain Catch Basin Insert Project constructed by G2 Construction Inc.;
2. Authorize Filing of the appropriate Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's Office; and
3. Approve the release of retention for $5,479.22 to G2 Construction.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The original Cycle 1 Storm Drain Catch Basin Insert Project construction contract award amount was $123,635, with an additional contingency amount of $12,364.00. The work was successfully completed under budget for $109,584.42.

BACKGROUND:
On February 7, 2017, City Council awarded a construction contract to G2 Construction, Inc. for $123,635.00 to install connector pipe screen (CPS) and automatic retractable screen (ARS) units at catch basins citywide, which is as one implementation measure to meet current MS4 NPDES Permit requirements for trash.

DISCUSSION:
Installations began on April 3, 2017 and were completed on June 27, 2017. The original contract called for installing either connector pipe screen units (internal mounting) or automatic retractable screen units (external mounting) at 170 locations.
