Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends that City Council adopt a Resolution approving the following:

1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for $157,845.40 with Alfaro Communication Construction Inc for the Parkview Avenue Sidewalk and Access Ramp Improvements Project (Attachments 1 and 4);
2. Authorize the City Manager to approve a contingency for $15,785.00 (10%) for additional work, if necessary.
3. Approve the plans and specifications for the Parkview Avenue Sidewalk and Access Ramp Improvements Project. (Attachment 5: Web-link provided)

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:

$237,000 was budgeted for this project under two separate Capital Improvement Project sources, which include:

1) $129,610 from the Parkview Avenue Sidewalk Improvements Project
2) $107,390 from the Annual Curb, Gutter and Ramp Replacement Project

The project expenditure details, which include previously expended funds for design, bidding and the upcoming construction/inspection phase, are provided in the Budget and Expenditure summary report (Attachment 2).

BACKGROUND:
This project (Attachment 3) was presented and approved by City Council with the FY2016-2017 Capital Improvement Plan budget. Design services were secured in October, 2016 and completed this past spring (2017).
