Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council adopt a Resolution approving the following:

1. Award a construction contract to Palp Inc. (dba Excel Paving Company (Excel)) for $1,156,427.35, approve the plans and specifications, and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract for the following projects (Attachment 1 and 4; and Attachment 5: Web-link provided):

a. Resurfacing Manhattan Beach Boulevard between Sepulveda Boulevard and Aviation Boulevard
b. Traffic Signal Modification at the Target Store Driveway
c. Extension of the Existing Raised Median to Aviation Boulevard fronting the Trader Joe's Shopping Center
d. Resurfacing of Redondo Avenue, 10th Street, 11th Street and Oak Avenue

2. Authorize the City Manager to approve additional work, if necessary for $92,515 (8%).

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A total of $1,291,417 is available for this project in the Capital Improvement Plan. The Budget and Expenditure summary report is provided in Attachment 2.
