Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council:

1. Formally accept as complete the Cycle 2 Storm Drain Infrastructure Improvement Project constructed by Ramona, Inc.;

2. Authorize filing of the appropriate Notice of Completion with the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office;

3. Approve release of retention for $31,655.16 to Ramona, Inc.

4. Adopt Resolution No. 22-0076 authorizing the City Manager to execute Contract Change Order #3 (Final) with Ramona Inc. for $41,394.97 under the Cycle 2 Storm Drain Infrastructure Improvement Project contract for unanticipated storm drain repairs completed on The Strand and 41st Street and The Strand and 43rd Street. (Attachment);

5. Authorize a contract change order to increase the contract with Ramona, Inc. by an additional $7,428.20 to cover the cost of the emergency repairs.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funding for the Cycle 2 Storm Drain Infrastructure Improvement Project is approved in the Stormwater Fund within the City's approved Capital Improvement Plan. The City awarded a construction contract award to Ramona, Inc. for a total not to exceed $625,675, an amount which included an authorized construction contingency amount of $81,600. The original contract work was completed at the cost of $591,708.23.
