Recommended Action

RECOMMENDATION:

At the request of Mayor Montgomery, staff recommends that the City Council approve the City Council Assignments to reflect the revisions to the following positions:

                     Appointment of Councilmember Stern as the Delegate and Councilmember Napolitano as the Alternate to the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.

                     Appointment of Councilmember Hadley as the Alternate to the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business & Professional Association.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:

There are no fiscal implications associated with the recommended action.

 

BACKGROUND:

City Council Assignments are the discretionary responsibility of each Mayor to review the standing list of assignments to various government and community-related committees and make changes they feel are necessary.

 

DISCUSSION:

Mayor Montgomery is requesting that the City Council approve:

 

(1)                     Appointment of Councilmember Stern as Delegate and Councilmember Napolitano as Alternate to the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.

 

Prior to this revision, Councilmember Hadley served as the Delegate and Councilmember Stern served as the Alternate to the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.

 

(2)                     Appointment of Councilmember Hadley as Alternate to the Downtown Business & Professional Association.

 

Prior to this revision, the Alternate position to the Downtown Business & Professional Association was vacant.

 

Upon approval of the aforementioned revisions, staff will update the City Council Assignments and notify the affected agencies of the new appointments.
