Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council:

1. Formally accept as complete the Pedestrian Safety Improvements Along Highland Avenue at the intersections of 34th, 35th, and 36th Streets and at Morningside Drive at Manhattan Beach Boulevard Project (Project) constructed by Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc.;
2. Authorize filing of the appropriate Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's Office; and
3. Approve the release of retention for $13,714 to Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The Project construction contract award was for $263,572, with an authorized construction contingency of $26,428, for a total construction budget of $290,000. The work was successfully completed for $274,282. The remaining unexpended project balance will be returned to the CIP Fund for re-appropriation to a future project.

BACKGROUND:
On December 4, 2018, City Council awarded a construction contract to Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc. for construction of the Project, which included the construction of pedestrian safety enhancements at seven different locations throughout the City, including pedestrian signage, flashing beacons, and in-roadway warning lights.
