b) Authorizing Licenses for Both Facilities (Community Development Director McIntosh).

Recommended Action

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends that the City Council:

 

1. Adopt Resolution No. 19-0078 approving the proposed telecommunications facility in the Veterans Parkway near Ardmore Avenue and 9th Street/Place, subject to conditions;
2. Adopt Resolution No. 19-0079
approving the proposed telecommunications facility in the Veterans Parkway near Ardmore Avenue and 2nd Street, subject to conditions; and

3. Authorize the City Manager to approve licenses with AT&T Wireless.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:

Costs will be incurred as the license agreements are negotiated, however, if approved, the City will receive revenue through the license agreements.

 

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:

On July 16, 2019, the City Council considered AT&T’s request for alternative designs and locations for two proposed Ardmore Avenue oDAS facilities in Veterans Parkway. After hearing public testimony, the City Council directed staff to prepare resolutions conditionally approving the alternative designs and locations for Council consideration. The telecommunication facilities will not be installed until after the proposed License Agreements are fully executed.

 

Resolutions have been prepared for the following sites:

 

1.                     Resolution No. 19-0078 - Ardmore Avenue/9th Street/Place -TCP#18-09 (MBCH16)

(July 16, 2019, City Council vote to prepare resolution approving the request - Aye: Hadley, Montgomery, Napolitano, Stern, and Hersman)

2.                     Resolution No. 19-0079 - Ardmore Avenue/2nd Street-TCP#18-11 (MBCH17)

(July 16, 2019, City Council vote to prepare resolution approving the request - Aye: Hadley, Montgomery, Napolitano, Stern, and Hersman)
