Recommended Action

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Ordinance No. 18-0021 related to amending the posting of public notices.

Body
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:

There are no fiscal implications associated with the recommended action.

BACKGROUND:

At the September 19, 2018, meeting, City Council discussed various revisions to the Sunshine Policy and voted unanimously to waive further reading and introduce Ordinance No. 18-0021 related to amending the posting of public notices.

Currently, the Manhattan Beach Municipal Code (MBMC) requires staff to post public notices in bulletin board locations in the City that no longer exist. The Ordinance amends the Municipal Code to remove mention of the bulletin boards that no longer exist and states, “All notices required by law to be posted in a public place or places shall be posted in accordance with applicable law, and where applicable, City Council Resolutions.”

LEGAL REVIEW
The City Attorney has approved Ordinance No. 18-0021 as to form.
