RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 18-0001 approving a Coastal Development Permit and Temporary Use Permit for the 2018 Manhattan Beach Open (MBO) scheduled for August 16-19, 2018, and approve the request from AOS GROUP (AVP) for a special permit for limited alcoholic beverage use on public property for the Manhattan Beach Open, August 16-19, 2018, in the lower south pier parking lot and VIP Bleacher Seating Area in the Stadium Court.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
If approved, under the terms of the contract (Attachment 1), the event operator, AVP will reimburse the City for costs associated with the event, estimated to be $75,000.
BACKGROUND:
The 2017 Manhattan Beach Open was the first year in a three-year agreement between the City and AOS Group (AVP) to operate the MBO. Additionally, it was the fourth year with the addition of bleachers and a featured stadium court at the event.
