Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council:

1. Adopt Resolution No.18-0003 approving a three-year contract with Barr Commercial Door Repair for commercial door maintenance services in the amount of $83,980 (Attachment 1);
2. Authorize an additional annual contingency amount of $20,000 for unforeseen door repairs or replacements as-needed; and
3. Authorize the City Manager to extend the term of the agreement for up to two additional one-year periods, with an annual $20,000 contingency, if deemed in the City's best interest.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Sufficient funds are available in the Public Works Department budget for commercial door maintenance services.

BACKGROUND:
The City is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 96 individual, industrial interior and exterior doors throughout the City. These doors secure city facilities, including City Hall, Fire Stations 1 and 2, the Public Works Yard, Parks facilities and the Roundhouse Aquarium Windows. They require periodic preventative maintenance and repair to ensure that they continue to operate properly, which is vital to all City operations and public safety (see Attachment 2 Vendor Pricing Sheet for a complete list of doors and locations).


DISCUSSION:
