DISCUSSION:
Project 1.
On December 8, 2017, the City of El Segundo issued a Notice of Preparation for a new construction project known as "Beach Cities Media Campus" proposed at 2021 Rosecrans Avenue, El Segundo. The environmental consultant is entertaining comments from interested parties as to the scope of the environmental document. A copy of the project description and environmental review procedures is attached as Exhibit 1. Two development scenarios are being considered as shown in the color renderings.
The City Council may wish to discuss the project description and determine whether or not to provide a formal comment letter at this time. The deadline is January 6, 2018. There will also be a public review period when the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) is circulating. That will occur later in 2018 after all of the environmental analysis has been compiled.
Project 2.
On December 21, 2017, the City of Redondo Beach issued a Notice of Intent to Adopt/Certify a mitigated negative declaration, initial study and mitigation monitoring and reporting system for a 150,500 square foot expansion to the Northrop Grumann Lab at 1 Space Park Drive to the east of Manhattan Beach.
