Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council:
1) Appoint Lester Silverman to the vacant Parking and Public Improvements Commission (PPIC) Business Community Seat No. 2. Mr. Silverman's application was submitted in accordance with the requirements stated in the Boards and Commissions Handbook;
OR
2) Consider waiving the Boards and Commissions Handbook requirement that excludes home-based businesses as qualifying for a Business Community Seat. This would expand the number of potential candidates from one to five (including Mr. Silverman). Additional applicants with home-based businesses include Thomas Levy, Michael Marchetti, Joseph Ungoco and Steve Yi;
OR
3) Direct the City Clerk to continue public outreach for an additional month and return with a list of applicants at the August 4, 2015, City Council Meeting.
