Staff recommends that the City Council discuss and provide direction on the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 budget.

There are no fiscal implications associated with the recommended action.
DISCUSSION:
The City's FY 2014-2015 budget has been discussed at five separate City Council meetings thus far; one regularly scheduled Council meeting at which an overview was provided (May 6), and four budget study sessions which included departmental presentations, Q&A and wrap-up (May 8, 12, 21 and 29).
Tonight's meeting will provide another opportunity for the community to provide input into the budget, and for City Council to discuss and provide direction. The FY 2014-2015 budget is scheduled for adoption at the June 17 City Council meeting, and will be effective from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
Staff recommends that the City Council discuss the FY 2014-2015 budget and provide substantial final direction. This will allow staff to prepare the resolutions necessary for adoption at the June 17th meeting.
Due to the timing of agenda packet preparation for tonight's meeting, any request for information resulting from the May 29th study session will be provided subsequent to the posting of the agenda and staff report.
