RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council adopt Ordinance No. 14-0004 in order to apply the City's ban against plastic carry-out bags to restaurants.
Body
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The recommended action has no significant fiscal impact upon the budget. Limited funds and staff time will be used for outreach to local businesses and the community to advertise any changes to the plastic bag ordinance.

BACKGROUND:
At the March 18, 2014 City Council meeting, City Council waived further reading and introduced Ordinance No. 14-0004 which would amend Title 5 of the Manhattan Beach Municipal Code as codified in Chapter 5.88.

Staff recommends that City Council waive further reading and approve Ordinance No. 14-0004 to expand the prohibition on plastic carry-out bags to restaurants in the City of Manhattan Beach.
