Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with GHD, Inc.(GHD) for engineering services for the Manhattan Avenue/ Highland Avenue Improvement Project and Parkview Avenue Sidewalk and Access Ramp Improvement Project in the total not-to-exceed amount of $119,053 (Attachment 2).

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funding for the Manhattan Avenue/Highland Avenue Improvement Project and the Parkview Avenue Sidewalk and Access Ramp Improvement Project was approved as part of the City's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). $702,805 is budgeted in the Gas Tax Fund to rehabilitate Manhattan and Highland Avenues from 1st Street to 8th Street. Additionally, $130,000 is budgeted in the Gas Tax Fund to construct the Parkview Avenue improvements.
BACKGROUND:
Manhattan/Highland Avenues
The Manhattan and Highland Avenues improvement addresses pavement that was last improved in the late 80's and early 90's and now needs rehabilitation due to its deteriorating condition. The project area covers Manhattan and Highland Avenues between 1st Street and 8th Street - see Exhibits 1 and 2 in Attachment 3.
Parkview Avenue
