Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council adopt Resolution No. 22-0139:
1. Approving a Professional Services Agreement to KOA Corporation for Engineering Design Services in the amount of $161,780 for the Manhattan Beach Boulevard Eastbound Left-Turn Improvement at Aviation Boulevard Project.
2. Authorizing the City Manager to increase the compensation up to an additional $32,356 (20%) if needed due to unforeseen additional design related work.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
On July 5, 2022, the City Council approved a Measure M Funding Agreement between the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) and the City of Manhattan Beach for $1,200,000 to fund the development of design plans and specifications and construction of the Manhattan Beach Boulevard (MBB) Eastbound Left-Turn Improvement at Aviation Boulevard Project. These funds are anticipated to cover the cost of engineering design, environmental clearance, and construction.
The amount being requested for professional engineering design services with KOA Corporation is for a total not to exceed $194,136, consisting of an agreement with an allowed cost of $161,780 and an authorization for the City Manager to increase the total compensation by up to $32,356 for additional unforeseen tasks, if necessary. ...
