RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council Adopt Resolution No. 23-0112 accepting the State of California Natural Resources Agency Department of Parks and Recreation Proposition 68 (2018) Parks Bond Act Per Capita Grant Program funds in the Amount of $199,955.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The Polliwog Park Lower Playground Replacement Project was approved in the 5-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Plan with a total budget of $2,950,000 in the CIP Fund. The project expenditures are partially offset by grant reimbursements which staff has previously secured including $150,000 from Los Angeles County Regional Parks and approximately $600,000 in Open Space District (LA County RPOSD) Proposition (Prop) A funds. Staff has secured additional funding for the project from the State of California through two Parks & Water Bond 2018 Proposition 68 Per Capita Grants (CA State Parks Prop 68) which together total $199,955. Should City Council accept these funds, budgeted revenues will be adjusted by $199,955 to include these funds in the project budget within the CIP Fund.

BACKGROUND:
On behalf of the City of Manhattan Beach, the Parks and Recreation Department applied for the one-time grant allocation from the State of California Proposition 68 (2018) Bond Act to apply towards the Polliwog Park Playground Replacement project. The City was awarded two grants for a total of $199,955.
