RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council:

a) Adopt Resolution No. 24-0012:

1. Awarding a construction agreement to Sterndahl Enterprises LLC for the Cycle 1 Traffic Markings Project for $179,643; and
2. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the Agreement; and
3. Approving the Specifications for the Project; and
4. Authorizing the City Manager and/or his or her designee to approve additional work, if necessary, for up to $17,964.30 (10% of the contract) cost.
5. Determining that pursuant to CEQA, the project is categorically exempt pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(c).

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Sufficient funds of $197,607 are currently budgeted within the General Fund Public Works Department budget for the Cycle 1 Traffic Markings Project. A Budget and Expenditure Summary is attached.

BACKGROUND:
The City will initiate the Cycle 1 Traffic Markings Project, which is designed to implement traffic markings at locations identified by City staff and the Traffic Engineer on an on-call basis. Traffic markings may include thermoplastic solid, skip laneline, bike lane, pavement arrows, symbols and numbers, crosswalks, shared roadway bicycle, ADA stall symbols, and marking removals.
