Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council participate in the introduction of new employees, recognition of promotions and presentation of commemorative certificates to employees who have completed 15 or more years to the City.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no fiscal implications associated with the recommended actions.

BACKGROUND:
The City has a tradition of welcoming new employees by introducing them at City Council meetings. This gives new employees the opportunity to meet City Council Members and Department Heads and experience firsthand how City Council meetings are conducted at the City.

In addition, the City has a tradition of recognizing employees who have been promoted within our organization as well as presenting commemorative certificates to long-term city employees.

Promotions

Andrew Enriquez was promoted to Police Sergeant. Andrew joined the City of Manhattan Beach Police Department in 1998 as a Police Academy Trainee. Andrew attended the Orange County Sherriff Department's Academy, a 960 hour high stress program. His knowledge gained from the program helped the City of Manhattan Beach Police Department develop our program for Police Academy Trainee candidates attending OCSD Academy.

Andrew has participated in several assignments as a Police Officer which includes Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Motor Officer, DUI Task Force and Field Training Officer.
