Recommended Action

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends that the City Council continue the appointment of Seat No. 5 (Older Adult Seat) of the Parks and Recreation Commission.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:

There are no fiscal impacts associated with the recommended action.

 

BACKGROUND:

City staff has been directed to extend the application deadline for the vacant Seat No. 5 (Older Adult Seat) of the Parks and Recreation Commission, in order to receive more applications and increase the size of the applicant pool. The City Council will also need to establish a date and time to conduct interviews of the qualified candidates for the vacant seat (interview date to be determined at a later time).  The extended deadline to submit applications for this vacant seat will be on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 5:30 PM.


PUBLIC OUTREACH/INTEREST:
Upon approval of the application deadline extension and interview schedule date (TBD), the City Clerk’s office will conduct outreach efforts to notify the public of the vacancy and inform current applicants of the interview schedule.
