On September 11, 2024, the Planning Commission considered the item described below:

Appeal of a Coastal Development Permit for a Single-Family Residence Located at 3212 The Strand

On April 11, 2023, the City received an application requesting a Coastal Development Permit (CDP) for the demolition of a single-family residence and construction of a new single-family residence located at 3212 The Strand. On June 5, 2024, the Community Development Director (Director) approved the CDP, and on June 18, 2024, an appeal of the Director’s decision was filed. On September 11, 2024, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing to consider the appeal. After receiving a report from City staff, and testimony from the applicant and appellant, the Planning Commission upheld the approval of the CDP, found the project exempt from CEQA, and denied the appeal.
