RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council receive the report on the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 City Council Work Plan.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no fiscal implications associated with the recommended action. However, various City Council Work Plan items have associated fiscal implications which will require expenditure approvals at future City Council meetings.
BACKGROUND:
Based on past practice, the City Council reviews a Work Plan document that lists the City Council's priorities. The document allows the City Council to receive an update on projects that staff is undertaking (based on City Council direction) and allows the City Council to review projects they may want to proceed with.
The City Council's current Work Plan was approved at the May 16, 2023, City Council meeting. Since that time, staff has taken actions to advance Work Plan items and the current Work Plan update is a reflection of the latest completed items and pending actions.
DISCUSSION:
The current Work Plan reflects the City Council's priorities for the coming 12-18 months (Attachment #1). Additionally, staff has provided a summary of all the work plan items (Attachment #2) which includes status, board/commission involvement and updated target dates of completion.
The City Council Work Plan features priority levels on projects, funding sources, commission(s) involved and images. Priority levels are organized in the following categories with the following definitions:
* A - Critical
* B - Important
* C - Normal
