Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 23-0111 approving Amendment No. 1 to the design services agreement with David Volz Design Landscape Architects, Inc., for Conceptual Design Plans for Sand Dune Park and on-call design services not to exceed $193,690.
Body
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The original agreement with David Volz Design Landscape Architects, Inc. (DVD) was approved under the City Manager's awarding authority in the amount of $44,990, plus $4,000 for reimbursable expenses, per the City's purchasing policy. Amendment No. 1 will increase the agreement amount by $44,700 for conceptual design plans for the Sand Dune Park project and $100,000 for on-call design services on future projects.

Should City Council approve Amendment No. 1, the revised agreement with DVD would increase by $144,700 for a new maximum compensation amount of $193,690. City Council's approval of Amendment No. 1 is required, as the additional amount associated with this amendment will cause the total contract amount to exceed the City Manager's awarding authority.

BACKGROUND:
In April 2023, Public Works entered into a design services agreement with DVD to provide on-call, as-needed garden and landscape design services, including conceptualization, for City-owned and operated facilities as detailed in Individual Project Orders (IPOs).
