RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council award Bid No. 1288-23 to Dana Safety Supply, Inc. for the purchase of three budgeted Wanco Message Boards for the Public Works Department in the amount of $58,239.87.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds totaling $141,454 are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Fleet Management Fund for the purchase of these Wanco Message Boards. The total cost for all three message boards is $58,239.87. There are no additional fiscal implications at this time.

BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Wanco Message Boards is to provide information and direction to the public regarding road conditions, City events, and general information. This purchase is for the replacement of three existing message boards that are past useful life. Two of the message boards are 15 years old and one of the units is 10 years old.

DISCUSSION:
This purchase is for three message boards for the Public Works Department. The selection of Wanco Message Boards has been approved by Public Works Department's Equipment Maintenance Supervisor.

The Request for Bids was posted on the City's website as well as OpenGov, a public bid notification board. A total of six bid responses were received. The bid comparison (Attachment) lists the aggregate price, including sales tax, fees, and payment discounts (the lowest bid is indicated in bold font).
