RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 23-0078 approving continued participation in the Los Angeles Urban County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program by entering into a three-year Participating City Cooperation Agreement with the County of Los Angeles for Fiscal Years (FY) 2024, 2025, and 2026 and authorizing the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary for participation.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
This Participating City Cooperation Agreement does not contain any direct monetary obligations. By executing this agreement, the City will continue to be eligible to receive federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through Los Angeles County. The City's annual allocation is estimated to be $100,000 and is based on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) formula for CDBG disbursements to eligible grantees. These funds are annually designated in the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget for constructing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant improvements throughout the City.
BACKGROUND:
On May 5, 2020, the City Council authorized a three-year Participating City Cooperation Agreement with the County of Los Angeles.
