Recommended Action
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council:
1. Approve the plans and specifications for the Sewer Main Rehabilitation
Project Phase 2.
2. Authorize the City Manager to award a construction contract in the amount of $1,280,000 to Miramontes Construction Company, Inc. for the Sewer Main Rehabilitation Project Phase 2.
3. Authorize the City Manager to approve additional work, if necessary, in an amount not-to-exceed $128,000 (10%).

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A total of $1,622,109 will be required to complete this project. Sewer Enterprise Funds in the amount of $1,659,496 are available from prior fiscal years. The Sewer Phase 2 Project will complete the construction of three sewer main rehabilitation projects previously combined and pursued under a single design and management umbrella. A summary of budget and expenditures is provided in Attachment 1.

BACKGROUND:
The City has been implementing a water and sewer infrastructure reinvestment program. This represents best practice management of the City's environmental stewardship efforts, and follows with its Strategic Plan goal: "Maintain and enhance city facilities, programs and the infrastructure". Maintaining the City's wastewater collection infrastructure is an integral component of the proper management of the treatment system.
