Body

At the June 18, 2024, City Council meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 24-0058 calling for the holding of a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the election of three City Councilmembers and one City Treasurer.  At that same meeting the City Council adopted Resolution No. 24-0060 requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles to render services to the City relating to conducting the General Municipal Election and consolidating with the Statewide General Election.

At the August 6, 2024, City Council meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 24-0089 ordering to place a measure on the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election ballot to consider a local one-half cent (0.5%) transactions ad use tax to be administered by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration.

The County administered the election and canvassed the results of the City’s November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election for three City Council seats and one City Treasurer seat and the aforementioned measure (Measure MMB).

Pursuant to Elections Code § 10263 or 10264, upon completion of the canvass and before installing the new City Councilmembers, the governing body shall adopt a resolution reciting the facts of the election and a statement of the vote.  A statement of the vote includes the following:
