RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached list of appointments previously made for the Boards and Commissions.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
To comply with Section 54970 et seq. of the California Government Code, each legislative body is required to annually prepare a list of all regular and ongoing Boards and Commissions that are appointed by the City Council and make the list available to the public. This list is known as the Local Appointment List or the Maddy Act List. The list contains all appointive terms, the name of each incumbent, the date of appointment, the date the term expires, and the necessary qualifications for the appointment. Staff has reviewed and updated the attached list to reflect changes made throughout the 2025 calendar year. This list is posted at City Hall and on the City’s website for the public to access.
Additionally, these are the upcoming vacancies for the annual Boards and Commissions appointment process in 2026.

The City Clerk’s Office will be accepting applications from January 8, 2026, through April 16, 2026. Advertising will start January 2026, and will include the Beach Reporter, email notice to the public, social media, and the City’s website.
PUBLIC OUTREACH:
The attached list will be posted to the City’s website on the Boards and Commission pages and will also be posted on the posting boards at City Hall, Joslyn Community Center, and Manhattan Heights.
LEGAL REVIEW:
The City Attorney has reviewed this report and determined that no additional legal analysis is necessary.
