RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached list of appointments previously made for the Boards and Commissions.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
To comply with Section 54970 et seq. of the California Government Code, each legislative body is required to annually prepare a list of all regular and ongoing Boards and Commissions that are appointed by the City Council and make the list available to the public. In addition, Government Code Section 54973 requires that a copy of the list be provided to the Library. This list is known as the Local Appointment List or the Maddy Act List. The list contains all appointive terms, the name of each incumbent, the date of appointment, the date the term expires, and the necessary qualifications for the appointment. Staff has reviewed and updated the attached list to reflect changes made throughout 2024 calendar year. This list will be posted at City Hall and on the City’s website for the public to access.
PUBLIC OUTREACH:
The attached list will be posted to the City’s website on the Boards and Commission pages and will also be posted on the two posting boards at City Hall, Joslyn Community Center, and Manhattan Heights.
LEGAL REVIEW:
The City Attorney has reviewed this report and determined that no additional legal analysis is necessary.
