Manhattan Beach, a California General Law City, has a five-member City Council, elected at large to formulate policy for the city. Each member serves a nine (9) month mayoral position during their four (4) year term. City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers located in City Hall at 1400 Highland Avenue. Public participation and input is encouraged. Closed Session meetings typically begin at 4:30 PM before the regular City Council meeting. Meetings are subject to change in the event of a National/State holiday or Election falling on a first or third Tuesday, please check the City Calendar to note any changes or contact the City Clerks office at (310) 802-5056.
