BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
After a duly noticed public hearing on August 12, 2015, the Planning Commission approved a request for two one-year extensions for the project. In July 2007 the City originally approved the 22,350 square foot project, including medical office condominiums; a support pharmacy and a small coffee shop with outdoor patio area. A minor parking reduction, a variance for a reduction in the size of the loading space, a General Plan Amendment and a zone change were also approved. Demolition of the existing restaurant building was completed in July 2015, shoring is underway, permits have been issued and construction is expected to begin by the end of August 2015.

In accordance with Ordinance 15-0015 adopted June 16, 2015, any Councilmember may request review of a Planning Commission decision within twenty days (September 1, 2015) following the decision. For all requests for review, it shall be presumed that the reason for the request is that the decision may have significant and material effects on the quality of life within the City, or that the subject matter of the decision may have City-wide importance warranting review and determination by City's elected officials. Bias shall not be presumed or inferred due to a request for review.
